"Heh," he forced a smile, then felt the breeze come by. Shivering, he nodded, "Yeah, it's cold. Here," he wrapped his fluffy tail around her. "You ok?" he asked, forcing another smile, then a wink.
Nakita shivered one last time. She stopped as she felt his tail curl around her. She sighed, feeling better now. "I am now. Thanks.." she muttered, leaning and cuddling closer to him for warmth.
"Nooo problem." Hunter chuckled and watched her cuddle up to him, then he placed his maw atop hers, so her head was below his chin. He smiled, seeing that now he not only felt warm on the outside, but in the inside too.
Nakita couldn't help but supress a small, happy giggle. She felt his muzzle rept atop her head. She smiled secretly to herself and nuzzled her head into his chest, sighing contently. "Mm, I really like 'ya, Hunter." she muttered, her voice soft yet muffled. He probably couldn't have heard her.
Did he just hear what he thought he just heard? '"Mm, I really like 'ya, Hunter'? Well, by the tone of her voice, Hunter could tell that she was telling the truth. "To tell you the truth, I like you too." he whispered and placed one of his paws on top of hers.
Nakita smiled and licked his maw gently. "I'm glad.." she muttered. She laughed and gave him a playful nudge with her maw. Well, now she was becoming soft. Oh well, Nakita didn't mind at all.
"Nakita," he smiled and looked into her softening eyes. "I- need to ask you something." he smiled and nuzzled her. "Will you-?" he began, but stopped after he heard a shotgun in the distance. "What was that?" he asked and raised his paw, sniffing the air.
"Yes?" she replied, but stopped immediately. Nakita's ears flicked at the sound of the gun shot. Oh no, was it the man? Hopefully not, then he would try to harm Hunter.. As the man, gun in hand, came into view she became alert. "Hunter, run," she said, pushing him with her maw. "Don't worry about me, just get out of here."
"I'm not leaving your side Nakita," hHunter said and stood protectively in front of her. Soon, he saw a manly figure walking out of the bushes. He had a shotgun in his hand, and he knew immediately that it was the man Nakita was talking about. Pinning his ears back, hackles raised as he emitted a fierce and protective growl.
The man just laughed and took his shotgun, firing. Hunter somehow managed to escape the bullet and lunged at the hunter. But then the man fired, striking Hunter and making him fall to the ground. Hunter was yet not harmed though. He lunged at the man, slashing his neck with his claws and biting a fatal strike. He watched the man fall to the ground wounded and padded over to Nakita, soon collapsing in front of her.
Nakita just watched in shock. She had no idea what to do; she wasn't the kind to attack a human. Any human at that matter. She closed her eyes tightly and whimpered softly. 'This can't be happening.. ugh, everything bad happens when I'm around. She re-opened her eyes to gaze down at the injured Hunter. "Hunter! Are you okay?" she said, obviously worried and concerned about it. Now she wished it was herself who had been shot. Hunter didn't deserve this at all. She whimpered and put her maw to his. "Please don't die.." she muttered. No, he couldn't die on her. She wouldn't let him. "I'm going to get help, promise me you'll hang in there.." she said quickly before she took off in the direction of the town, running as fast as her legs could take her.
Once she arrived in town, she knew exactly where she had to go. Nakita was tired, but it didn't stop her. Nothing would. She quickened her pace slightly, arrriving at the small white building, called the "Humane Society." She went to the side door and began barking loudly, hoping to get a human's attention. A young woman stepped out, smiling at Nakita. The femme barked and went up to the female two legged. "Please, I need help!" she yipped, though she knew the human couldn't understand her. Though the girl seemed to understand her and rushed back inside. 3 men and the same girl came back outside, carrying vet equipment with her. Nakita took off in the other direction, the humans following right behind her.
As soon as the female wolfdog arrived by Hunter's side, she moved out of the way for the humans as they began to heal the male wolf. Hopefully, he would be okay..
Hunter felt himself being examined by humans after a while, but made no effort to growl. He could actually tell they were trying to help, so he just let them to what they needed to. Soon, he saw them back away, and he felt a bit better now. "Nakita?" he whined and looked at her. "That you?" he smiled.
Nakita sighed, watching the humans walk away from them. She smiled and turned to Hunter after he had spoke. She was glad he was okay, and that nothing else would harm him. "Yes, it's me," she said softly, leaning her maw down to nuzzle him. "I'm so happy you're okay."
"I am too, that guy can sure shoot." he smiled and nuzzled her. "And Nakita, I never finished my question." he chuckled a little, but winced at the small pain that it cost him to laugh. Forcing anotehr smile, he continued, "Nakita, will you be- my mate?"
Nakita laughed softly at his comment. Her eyes widened at his question. His mate? He wanted her to be his mate? She shook her head, snapping back into reality. Nakita took a deep breathe before answering him. "Yes, of course!" she said a little too loud. A wide smile crept across her maw as she nuzzled him affectionately.
"Heheh," he chuckled as he was showered with nuzzles. He smiled and licked her maw happily, then put one of his paws on hers. Still laying on the ground, he looked to the north and emitted a loud, happy howl.
